The Oppo Pad Air 2 will go official in China next week alongside the Oppo Reno 11 series. The new tablet comes as a successor to last year’s Oppo Pad Air and is likely to bring some improvements in the design department. The Chinese brand is actively teasing the design and specifications of the upcoming tablet via social media channels.
The new Oppo Pad Air 2 will be a premium tablet that could compete against high-end tablets from other brands. The tablet is expected to have an 11.4-inch display featuring HDR10 and Dolby Vision support. It will also feature quad speakers, a powerful 8,000 mAh battery, and up to 8GB of RAM. The upcoming tablet is also expected to be thinner and lighter than the original Oppo Pad Air.
Besides these, the Oppo Pad Air 2 will also have features like intelligent subtitles for Bilibili and Youku videos, drama-listening mode, and more. It will also include a blue light filter, which reduces harmful blue light by up to 60%. It will also allow users to transfer files between their phone and the tablet by dragging and dropping them. The upcoming device will be available in three memory variants – 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128, and 8GB + 256GB.
A recent listing on the China Telecom website has revealed some details about the upcoming Oppo Pad Air 2. It is believed to be a rebranded version of the OnePlus Pad Go and will launch on November 23 in China. The tablet is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Helio G99 processor and an 8,000 mAh battery.
Regarding software, the upcoming tablet will run Android 13 with Oppo’s ColorOS 13 on top. The company is also expected to add some unique features to the tablet, including RAM Expansion, which will let users extend their internal storage by adding virtual space to the existing physical RAM. The upcoming tablet will also connect with the OPPO Find X series and the Reno 11 series of smartphones for cross-screen collaboration, allowing users to use their mobile phone as a remote control or keyboard for the tablets.
The OPPO Pad Air 2 is expected to be priced at around CNY 1,000 (Roughly Rs 11,500) in China. It may be launched alongside the Oppo Reno 11 series of smartphones on November 23, although this is yet to be confirmed by the company.
The upcoming Oppo Pad Air will likely be sold with a unique keyboard case that will turn the tablet into a laptop-like device. The keyboard will be available separately, costing around CNY 199 (Roughly Rs 200). The OPPO Pad Air 2 will be the company’s first tablet to feature this keyboard.
