Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Series: A Deep Dive into the Next-Gen Android Tablets

The Galaxy Tab S11 and Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, which came out on September 4, 2025, are the latest Android tablets from Samsung. At a virtual Galaxy Event, these flagship tablets were shown off. They have the latest hardware, a sleek design, and powerful AI-driven features that let them compete directly with Apple’s iPad Pro series. The Galaxy Tab S11 series is set to change what premium tablets can do by focusing on productivity, creativity, and portability. Here’s a detailed look at the features, specifications, prices, and more.

Design and Build: Sleek, thin, and strong

The Galaxy Tab S11 series from Samsung is its thinnest tablets yet, and the company has put a lot of thought into making them portable and durable. The Galaxy Tab S11 is 5.5mm thick and weighs 469g (Wi-Fi) or 471g (5G). The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is even thinner, at 5.1mm, and weighs 692g (Wi-Fi). Both models have an Armor Aluminum frame that is IP68 dust and water resistant, which is rare in the tablet market. This means they can handle daily use.

The bezels on the tablets are thinner, which makes the viewing experience more immersive. They come in two high-end colors: Moonstone Gray and Platinum Silver. The new S Pen that comes with both models has a hexagonal shape for better grip and a cone-shaped tip for better control. However, it doesn’t have Bluetooth Low Energy, which some people might see as a small step down. The sleeker design is helped by getting rid of the wireless charging slot for the S Pen.

Display: AMOLED with brighter colors

The Galaxy Tab S11 series keeps up Samsung’s tradition of making beautiful AMOLED screens. The Galaxy Tab S11 has an 11-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels. The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, on the other hand, has a huge 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with a resolution of 2960×1848 pixels. Both screens have a peak brightness of 1600 nits and a High Brightness Mode (HBM) of 1000 nits, making them great for use outside. They also have a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and animations.

An anti-reflective coating, which comes from the Tab S10 series, cuts down on glare and makes it easier to see in bright places. These screens are great for streaming, gaming, or getting work done because they have bright colors and deep blacks.

Performance: MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ gives it power.

Both tablets have the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ processor inside. This 3nm octa-core processor makes things run much faster: the CPU is 24% faster, the GPU is 27% faster, and the NPU is 33% faster than the Tab S10 series. This chipset makes it easy to do multiple things at once, play games, and use AI. The Galaxy Tab S11 has 12GB of RAM and storage options of 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB (up to 2TB with a microSD card). The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra has up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.

There has been some talk about switching from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors (used in older models) to MediaTek processors. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 4 has a fast CPU, but the Dimensity 9400+ has a fast GPU and uses less power, making it a great choice for these tablets.

One UI 8 and Galaxy AI are the software.

The Galaxy Tab S11 series runs Android 16 with One UI 8 and comes with a lot of tools for getting things done and being creative. Extended Mode is a new feature of Samsung DeX that lets the tablet act as an external monitor for a dual-screen setup with up to four customizable workspaces. This makes it a great tool for professionals who have to do a lot of things at once.

Galaxy AI, which is powered by Google Gemini and can be accessed by pressing and holding the side button, has advanced features like:

  • Gemini Live lets you share your screen in real time and get help with specific tasks.
  • Drawing Assist turns rough sketches into finished pieces of AI-generated art.
  • Writing Assist can help you change the tone of your writing.
  • Circle to Search and AI-sketch to notes for smooth work.

Apps that come preloaded, like Goodnotes, LumaFusion, Clip Studio Paint, and Notion, as well as third-party apps that have been improved, like Noteshelf, ArcSite, Sketchbook, and PicsArt, make the creative process better. Samsung says it will support the software for seven years, which means long-term updates and security patches.

Power and charging: long-lasting power

The battery life is one of its best features. The Galaxy Tab S11 has an 8400mAh battery, and the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra has an 11,600mAh battery, which is more than the 11,200mAh battery in the Tab S10 Ultra. Both can charge quickly at 45W, and the Ultra can play videos for up to 23 hours. These capacities make sure that you can work, play, or travel all day long.

Cameras: Workable but Not Revolutionary

The camera systems work well for a tablet. The Galaxy Tab S11 has a 12MP front camera and a 13MP rear camera. The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra has an 8MP ultrawide rear camera, but it doesn’t have the ultrawide front camera that the Tab S10 Ultra has. Instead, it has a single 12MP front camera. Both can record 4K video and have AI features like Instant Slow-Mo and Audio Eraser that make video editing easier. These cameras are good enough for video calls and casual photography, even though tablets don’t focus on them.

Accessories and Connectivity

The Galaxy Tab S11 supports Wi-Fi 6E and 5G (on some models), but the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra has Wi-Fi 7 for future-proof connectivity. Both have Bluetooth 5.4, USB Type-C 3.2, and support for two SIM cards (one physical SIM and one eSIM). A fingerprint scanner built into the display makes sure that unlocking is safe.

The Book Cover Keyboard Slim, Book Cover, Frame Cover, and an Anti-Reflecting Screen Protector (sold separately) are all official accessories. The Book Cover Keyboard Slim has a special Galaxy AI Key that makes it easy to get to AI functions.

Pricing and Availability in the U.S.

Galaxy Tab S11: Prices range from $799 for 128GB and Wi-Fi to $979 for 512GB and Wi-Fi.
Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra: Prices range from $1,199 for the 256GB Wi-Fi model to $1,619 for the 1TB 5G model.

Samsung has trade-in programs and deals, like giving you $100 worth of Robux currency and a special virtual item if you buy something between September 4 and October 5, 2025.

What’s new and what’s not?
The Tab S11 series has some big improvements over the Tab S10 series:

The Ultra model has a thinner design and a bigger battery.
MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ for better performance.
One UI 8 with new features for Samsung DeX and Galaxy AI.
Reintroduction of the 11-inch base model, which takes the place of the “Plus” model.

Some people might be disappointed that the Tab S11 Ultra doesn’t have an ultrawide front camera or a Bluetooth S Pen. The prices are competitive, but the Ultra model costs more, especially when you add accessories like the Book Cover Keyboard Slim, which brings the total cost close to that of a MacBook Air.

Conclusion: A High-End Tablet for Work and Play

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra are powerful tablets that are made for people who want a lot of different things. The Tab S11 is a great choice for people who want a small, powerful tablet for everyday tasks. The Tab S11 Ultra, on the other hand, is perfect for power users because it has a huge screen and can handle more than one task at a time. These tablets are worth the money because they come with Galaxy AI, a new S Pen, and seven years of software support. The Ultra is very expensive, and some buyers may not want to buy it because of small issues like the S Pen not having Bluetooth.

The Galaxy Tab S11 series is a great alternative to the iPad Pro for professionals, creatives, and tech lovers. It has a sleek design, strong performance, and new software. You can’t beat the premium experience of Samsung’s newest tablets, whether you’re sketching, working in DeX mode, or streaming on a bright AMOLED screen.
