Skully’s Birth: A Crucial Event

He got into an accident while riding a motorcycle in Spain because he was briefly distracted by a street sign. After this incident, Weller had a vivid dream in which he saw a motorcycle helmet equipped with a heads-up display (HUD) that would project important information, like GPS directions, right in front of the rider’s eyes, removing the need to look away from the road. He was awakened by the dream’s intensity, which sparked a “overwhelming desire to build it.”

Weller started prototyping the very next day. He ordered gadgets from Amazon and disassembled them to identify their constituent parts. He spent six months creating a working prototype of the Skully AR-1, the first augmented reality motorcycle helmet ever sold to consumers. Weller obtained $250,000 in initial funding to realize his vision with the help of Silicon Valley mentors. By 2015, Skully helmets with a nearly 180-degree rearview camera, turn-by-turn GPS navigation, smartphone pairing, and voice control were available for purchase in Harley-Davidson stores. Weller was recognized as one of LinkedIn’s Next Wave professionals under 35 for his innovative approach to modernizing the conventional motorcycle helmet, and the AR-1 was a ground-breaking accomplishment.

The Skully journey was not without difficulties, though. The business experienced financial difficulties in 2016, and a former executive assistant filed a lawsuit accusing Weller and his brother, Mitch Weller, of misusing company funds. Skully closed its doors in July 2016, but the lawsuit was later dropped. DeepInvent, the first “AI Innovator” in the world, can create original intellectual property in any field in a matter of minutes, in contrast to conventional AI tools that depend on extrapolating preexisting data or carrying out preset tasks. DeepInvent surpasses chatbots, reasoning engines, and AI agents and is classified as a “Level Four” AI in OpenAI’s taxonomy, the highest level to date. One noteworthy example is an Amazon engineer who used the platform to develop an AR-based speed-reading e-reader that used AR glasses to display words one at a time, increasing reading speed by up to 400%.

Weller gave the system its own architectural definition during a trial run in late 2024, and in just 15 minutes, the system created a novel framework—a recursive, evolutionary inference model—that improved its own performance and produced a description that was patent-worthy. According to Weller, the platform functions as an active collaborator rather than a passive instrument, akin to “a brilliant engineer laser-focused on your interests.” The platform’s ambitious goal is to increase the global GDP by $10 trillion in ten years and steepen the curve of human progress.

Weller’s goals go beyond making money. His dedication to moral AI development guarantees that DeepInvent puts people’s needs and the impact on society first. According to Weller, it’s about developing technologies that benefit humanity while upholding individual integrity. Every facet of DeepInvent’s development, from its user-centric design to its emphasis on ethical AI practices, is guided by his values: innovation, integrity, and impact.

Obstacles and Prospects

DeepInvent has difficulties in a cutthroat AI market, despite its potential. Continuous improvement is necessary to scale the platform to accommodate a variety of industries while upholding accuracy and moral principles. Weller stresses a disciplined approach to growth because of his experience with Skully’s financial and legal issues, which has made him acutely aware of the dangers of overextending. Furthermore, even though DeepInvent lessens the need for patent lawyers, it still has to handle intricate legal systems to guarantee that the patents it generates are strong and defendable.

In the future, Weller sees DeepInvent being integrated with code-generation platforms so that users can export their intellectual property straight into prototyping tools.
