Benny Blanco Bags Major First Win Weeks After Wedding to Selena Gomez

Hits are like money in the music business, and personal milestones often take a back seat to the spotlight. Benny Blanco has just written a chapter that mixes fairy-tale romance with professional success. The 37-year-old record producer won his first big award as a married man just weeks after marrying pop star Selena Gomez in a private ceremony in Santa Barbara. Blanco won the prestigious Producer of the Year award at the 2025 Billboard Latin Music Awards, which took place on October 23 in Miami. This was a nod to his work on tracks that have pushed the envelope and become popular on both Latin radio and playlists. This win, which happened almost a month after his wedding on September 27, feels like the universe’s way of saying, “Happily ever after starts with a plaque.”

Blanco’s win isn’t just a shiny trophy; it’s proof of how versatile he is in the studio. He was nominated for his work on Bad Bunny’s number one song “Un Verano Sin Ti” deluxe edition and for working with up-and-coming stars like Feid and Karol G. He beat out tough competition from producers like Tainy and Sky Rompiendo. Blanco accepted the award via video from Los Angeles, where he is reportedly settling into married life. He joked, “This one’s for the dreamers who stay up all night tweaking bass drops… and now, for my wife, who keeps me grounded when the beats get too wild.” The crowd went wild, but it was Gomez’s beaming face on the broadcast feed that stole the show. Her subtle nod was a silent “I told you so” to the people who had doubts about their whirlwind romance.

Blanco and Gomez’s love story is like a pop ballad with a Latin twist, and it’s easy to see how it got to this point.  They met for the first time in the studio over ten years ago. Blanco’s work on hits like Rihanna’s “Diamonds” and Justin Bieber’s “Lonely” caught the attention of the then-teen idol.  Gomez was busy climbing the Disney ladder, and Blanco was busy creating the sound of modern pop.  But by July 2023, around her birthday, fate brought them back together.  What began as flirty texts turned into a full-fledged relationship, and when they announced their engagement in December 2024, fans went wild.  In a Vogue interview earlier this year, Gomez said, “He’s the one who makes me laugh through the chaos.” She thanked Blanco for helping her find happiness again after years of being in the public eye’s harsh glare.

On September 27, their wedding took place at the beautiful Sea Crest Nursery in Montecito, California. The couple chose this location because the blooming gardens reminded them of how they had grown together. Gomez looked beautiful in a custom Ralph Lauren halter-neck gown with delicate floral embroidery. She walked down an aisle lined with white roses and fairy lights. Sources say that Blanco, who looked sharp in a tailored black tuxedo, cried during their personal vows, which included lyrics from their album I Said I Love You First. The album, which came out in March 2025 and was later expanded with the deluxe …And You Said It Back, tells the story of how they went from working together to being soulmates. It features Gomez’s vulnerable singing and Blanco’s lush production. “Heartbeat Sync” and other songs quickly became hits, reaching No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Pop chart and getting a Grammy nomination for Best Latin Pop Album.

The guest list was full of famous people from Hollywood and music, which showed how much the couple attracted people. Taylor Swift gave a heartfelt speech in which she talked about late-night songwriting sessions with Gomez. Ed Sheeran then played an acoustic set that made everyone sway.  Steve Martin and Martin Short, who both star in Only Murders in the Building, joked that Blanco’s “secret weapon” was his ability to tell both good and bad dad jokes. At the reception, Grammy winner Mark Ronson played songs from Blanco’s catalog while Zoe Saldaña and Édgar Ramírez danced together. They had just won the Emilia Pérez award with Gomez. Paris Hilton even showed up, which was a nod to the couple’s shared circle of famous people. An insider told People magazine, “There was so much love in the room.” “It felt less like a wedding and more like a family reunion for the creatively cursed.”

“Still, Gomez was determined to keep the paparazzi’s cameras away from their special day, even with all the confetti and canapés. During a pre-wedding talk on The Jennifer Hudson Show, she said, “I didn’t want anyone taking pictures unless it was from me.”  I keep my life as private as I can. As promised, the first glimpses came from blurry, dreamlike Instagram posts: Gomez holding a simple bouquet of white flowers and the two of them hugging on grass that had just been kissed by dew. The caption read “9.27.25” with white heart emojis and a short clip of Édith Piaf’s “La Vie en Rose.”  Blanco’s mirror selfie of them relaxing after the ceremony, with her huge veil askew, went viral and got millions of likes.  Fans filled the comments with heart eyes and “Mrs. Blanco era unlocked,” while people who didn’t believe in them at first had to eat their words.

Blanco’s win at the Latin Music Awards is more than just a personal achievement; it’s a bridge between his pop background and the lively Latin scene he’s always admired.  He has worked on crossover hits before, like the sexy “De Una Vez,” which was one of Gomez’s Spanish-language projects.  But winning Producer of the Year makes him a tastemaker for sure, and his beats are real.  In his speech of acceptance, he called Gomez not only his muse but also his partner in crime: “Selena’s the rhythm to my rhyme—she pushes me to make music that heals.”  It’s a big change from the tabloid stories of the past, when trolls on the internet questioned their relationship.

As the leaves start to fall in October, Blanco and Gomez are getting used to being married like old pros. At the Academy Museum Gala, they were both dressed up in Vera Wang and Armani, and they looked very comfortable together, with their hands intertwined like it was second nature. There are rumors of a joint tour or Gomez’s next acting job, but for now, they’re enjoying their small victories. Blanco’s award is proudly displayed on their mantel in Los Angeles. It sparkles as a reminder that love and legacy can work together. In an industry that eats up dreamers, this pair is changing the chorus to “success tastes better when shared.” Blanco’s first win as a husband comes weeks after “I do.” It shows that the best collaborations are the ones that last.
