Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7: Redefining Foldable Innovation

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7: keeps pushing the limits of smartphone design with the release of the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7, its seventh-generation foldable devices. The Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, which is cheaper, was also shown off at Galaxy Unpacked 2025 in Brooklyn on July 9. Samsung is a leader in the foldable market, and these devices show big improvements in design, performance, and artificial intelligence. The Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 are going to make mobile use even better with their sleeker designs, longer battery life, and cutting-edge AI features. This is a detailed look at what these devices can do.

The Galaxy Z Fold7 is the best productivity tool ever.
The Galaxy Z Fold7 is the thinnest and lightest foldable phone Samsung has made so far. When folded, it is only 8.9 mm thick, and when unfolded, it is an amazing 4.2 mm thick. It weighs 215 grams, which is less than the Galaxy S25 Ultra. This foldable stands out because of its slim shape and well-thought-out design. The device has a 6.5-inch cover screen and an 8.0-inch main display. Both use Corning® Gorilla® Glass Ceramic 2 for the front and Gorilla® Glass Victus® 2 for the back, which makes them more durable and less likely to break. The Armor FlexHinge has been redesigned with a multi-rail structure and a water droplet design. This makes it stronger while also making it less likely to show creasing and making it easier to fold.

Camera and Performance
The Z Fold7 has a 200-megapixel main camera, which is a big improvement over the 50-megapixel sensor on the previous model in the Galaxy Z Fold series. When used with Samsung’s next-gen ProVisual Engine, it provides amazing clarity, bright colors, and better performance in low light thanks to advanced Nightography. There are two 10 MP front cameras (one on the cover screen and one on the main display), as well as a 10 MP telephoto camera and a 12 MP ultra-wide camera. The front cameras now use a hole-punch design instead of an under-display camera. The Z Fold7 is now a great tool for taking pictures and videos thanks to these improvements. For example, the AI-powered Generative Edit feature can automatically find and remove unwanted objects from photos.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy powers the Z Fold7, giving it better performance and energy efficiency. The device runs on One UI 8, which is based on Android 16. It has a new user interface that is better for foldable devices. With Multi-Window support and integration with Google’s Gemini Live, you can easily do more than one thing at once, like looking at content on split screens or talking to the AI assistant using voice, images, or live camera input. With a 4400 mAh battery and software tweaks, it can play video for up to 24 hours, making it a good choice for all-day use.

Design and Functions
The Z Fold7’s design focuses on both looks and usefulness. You can get it in Silver Shadow, Blue Shadow, Jet Black, or Coral Red. It has 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB of storage and 12 GB or 16 GB of RAM. But the device no longer supports the S Pen, which may disappoint some users but makes it slimmer. Flex Mode lets the device stand up partially folded so you can make video calls or watch media without using your hands. When you connect it to a monitor, Samsung DeX turns it into a desktop-like experience.

The Z Fold7 costs $1,999 in the U.S. and £1,799 in the U.K. This is $100 more than the last model, which is a sign of its premium upgrades. Pre-order benefits include double storage and trade-in credits. The product will be available to everyone starting July 25, 2025.

Galaxy Z Flip7: Small Size, Big Performance
With its sleek, pocket-sized design and powerful features, the Galaxy Z Flip7 changes the way flip phones work. The Galaxy Z Flip is the thinnest one yet, with a folded size of just 13.7 mm and an unfolded size of 6.5 mm. It only weighs 188 grams. The device has a 4.1-inch edge-to-edge FlexWindow cover display (948×1048, 120 Hz OLED) and a bigger 6.9-inch main display (1080×2520). Both displays are protected by Corning® Gorilla® Glass Victus® 2. The Armor Aluminum Frame and redesigned Armor FlexHinge make it more durable, so it can handle daily wear and tear.

Improvements to the camera and AI
The main display of the Z Flip7 has a 50 MP main camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 10 MP selfie camera. The full-front FlexWindow is perfect for Gemini Live because it lets you talk to Google’s AI assistant directly from the cover screen. This is great for quick tasks like checking the weather or your schedule. With the 50 MP FlexCam in Flex Mode, you can take selfies and videos without using your hands. The folded shape lets you get creative with angles. AI tools like Audio Eraser get rid of background noise in videos, which makes the content better.

Samsung’s Exynos 2500 chip, which is 3 nm in size, powers the Z Flip7. This chip is different from the Snapdragon chip used in the Z Fold7. It has a 4300 mAh battery that can play videos for up to 31 hours, which is a big improvement over the last model. You can get the device in Black, Blue, or Coral Red, and it comes with 128 GB, 256 GB, or 512 GB of storage and 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM. In the U.K., it costs £1,049, and in the U.S., it costs about $1,099.

Galaxy Z Flip7 FE: Easy to Use When Folded
The Galaxy Z Flip7 FE is a great choice for people who want to get into foldables for less money. It costs £849 in the UK and about $900 in the US. It has a 6.7-inch main display (1080×2640) and a 3.4-inch cover screen (720×748, 60 Hz). It’s basically a rebranded Galaxy Z Flip6. It has the same 50 MP main camera and 12 MP ultra-wide sensor as the Z Flip7, but it has the older Exynos 2400 processor, 8 GB of RAM, and 128 GB or 256 GB of storage. It comes in black and white and has Galaxy AI features, which makes it a cheap way to try out foldable technology.

Availability and how the market reacted
The Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 have set new records, with posts on X saying that pre-orders are at an all-time high. The Galaxy S25 series sold 210,000 units in the first 48 hours in India, which is the same as the Z Fold7. In Europe, the Z Fold7 sold 50% more units than the Z Fold6 in its first two weeks. The Blue Shadow colorway has been very popular, making up 40% of sales around the world. On July 9, 2025, you could pre-order both devices and the Z Flip7 FE. They were fully available for purchase in 49 markets at first, and then they were available in more than 110 markets.

The competitive landscape
Samsung faces growing competition from brands like Honor and Oppo, whose foldables, such as the Honor Magic V5 and Oppo Find N5, rival the Z Fold7’s slimness. But Samsung still has the edge because of how well it combines Galaxy AI, high-quality materials, and advanced hinge technology. The Z Fold7 has a 200 MP camera, and the Z Flip7 has a FlexWindow that goes from edge to edge. The Z Flip7 FE is cheaper than other foldable phones, like the Motorola Razr series, so it can compete with them.

In conclusion, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7, along with the Z Flip7 FE, are big steps forward in foldable technology. These devices are great for both productivity lovers and style-conscious users because they have ultra-slim designs, powerful AI, and the best cameras in the business. The Z Fold7’s price increase and lack of S Pen support may raise some eyebrows, but its improvements in photography and performance make it a top choice. Samsung’s foldable lineup is sure to appeal to a wide range of people because the Z Flip7 and Z Flip7 FE are easy to carry and use. Samsung’s newest products show that it’s still at the top of the foldable market as it heats up.
